The IPS 2000 CVS is a real time control
system that integrates OCR, barcode and magnetic stripe technologies. The CVS
reads codes or personalized reference information from up to four different
products and verifies that the printed information on the products are matched
within the same production process.
To minimize production waste, the control
system has a user definable error thresholds to setup conditions under which
the production line can be programmed to stop. Mismatched products can be
diverted if a gate is available on the production line. A no-read and misread
system output control is also independently definable. To compensate for
inherent input device errors, enhanced matching logic has been incorporated
into the CVS software to increase production throughput.
Applications
-
Mass production of customer credit cards
for direct mailings
-
Collating of prenumbered or bar coded sets
of business forms
-
Collating of personalized products on
inserting lines
-
Verification of production elements used in
medical testing forms
-
Inserting of personalized signatures in the
envelope inserter
Production lines
System
-
The CMS control system runs on a standard
IBM compatible PC with a real time, multi-tasking operating system in
conjunction programmable logic controller and system software.
-
Up to four (4) serial reading/input devices
can be interfaced to the system:
-Barcode scanners
-Magnetic stripe readers
-OCR Cameras
-
The maximum system production throughput is
10 products per second – actual production throughput is input device
dependent.
-
Tracking distance of up to 99 products
between product detection of the first and the last product.
-
On-line system status monitoring.
-
Product detect photo cell and rotary
encoder
-
Standard length cables for controller
connection to production line
